Hunting was central to pre-civilized life. Learn and experience some basic tenants of traditional food acquisition through seeking, pursuing and humanely dispatching of wild animals in the forests of northern Michigan. This is a 3-day, 2-night gathering that will include:
- Basic instruction in tracking and primitive hunting (rabbit sticks, spear and sling)
- Basic to intermediate instruction in “minimal camping” ie, Fieldcraft
- Instruction of the seasonally relevant Uncivilized Technology Prerequisites:
- Valid Michigan small game license
- Must be able to walk (up to) 10 miles in a single day in woodland terrain
- Experience (not necessary but helpful) in minimal camping
