What an adventure! Concerned about spending the night outside in the snow? Don’t be! This is considered a Level 2: Bedroll camp, meaning we will teach you how to pack lighter and smarter while keeping you warm and happy. You will spend the first night in a tarp shelter of your own construction. You will then have the option to build and sleep in a natural shelter the second night (ie quinzee, debris hut…etc). Winter time is the heart of our camping season; the absolute BEST time to Optimize your Health & Happiness. More information including a packing list will be provided closer to the event once registration is complete.
Join us as we explore the beauty of northern Michigan winters. This event is perfect for both the novice and veteran as we will be camping in cabins; what a luxury! Our days will be spent hiking around the Rifle River Recreation area, both on and off trail (snowshoes encouraged). Dr. Jon D. Morey will provide lessons on Fieldcraft specific to the winter months. You will be given ample opportunities to learn and use our Uncivilized Technology as a means of staying warm and comfortable. The cost is free for first time attendees and only $24 for repeat visitors. Registration includes any and all take home projects and materials. Membership options available.
