This 2 hour workshop (10:00 AM to noon) is perfect for those looking to learn more about how to prepare for an overnight adventure such as one of our Campaigns.
All too often people just stuff their giant backpacks full of the latest and greatest “tech” only to find that all that stuff diminishes the overall experience.
Dr. Jon D. Morey will go through the different and unconventional ways to efficiently pack your gear, what gear you actually need (and what gear you don’t).
We lead trips right through the Winter, making this an excellent opportunity to waylay your fears about spending the night in the snow!
Following the instructional event from noon to 4:00 PM will be an opportunity to browse the Uncivilized store for your next piece of camping equipment. Have some gear of your own you need to get rid of? Bring it to trade or simply donate!!
All proceeds from this event will go directly to our non-profit, the Uncivilized Living Foundation whose mission “Is to provide underserved and populations in need with the unique benefits of outdoor experiences and the life lessons that come from living in Nature.”
Cost is a suggested minimum donation of $10.

This is a MEMBERS-ONLY event (including prospective members by invite).
We will be heading up to Traverse City Thursday evening to crash in a hotel so as to be ready for the ferry bright and early Friday morning up in Leeland.
After arriving on the island Friday afternoon we will hike into a place to camp, set up, and spend the rest of the weekend exploring, playing on the dunes, swimming, eating, and having and all around great time.

Canoe Camp takes place May 17-19, 2024 at Pigeon River, West Olive, MI. We will meet at the clinic at 7am on May 17, 5154 Miller Rd, Suite G, Flint, MI 48507. This is a “self-fed” event.
**All forms/waivers and invoices are due by May 1st. If payment is not received by the due date an additional $20 late fee will need to be paid (at the door) to participate in the event. This includes late registrations. Meaning, if you decide to participate in this event within 48hrs of departure a $20 fee will be added to your registration cost. Membership discounts still apply. Thursday we will leave the clinic at 4pm sharp please arrive early to coordinate gear and vehicles. We will stop for the night in Manistee then continue to Copper Harbor early Friday morning. Our return trip on Sunday will be directly back to Flint.
The full cost of this event is based off of accommodations, additional split costs WILL apply. A $300 deposit will be required to secure your cabin.
