Movnat Elements Workshop @ Great Lakes Chiropractic & Movement Center

LEARN THE BUILDING BLOCKS OF NATURAL MOVEMENT
This one day workshop is designed to introduce you to Natural Movement, and give you the most important basics that you can practice in your daily life. We will focus on areas that need the most improvement and we will teach you routines that you can use and practice at home in twenty or thirty minutes a day.

WHAT’S INCLUDED:

6 hours of professional instruction, including short lunch and snack breaks
Safe, step-by-step progressions for all ages, abilities, and fitness levels
MovNat’s principles, and how they will change how you think about the way you move
Understanding MovNat’s approach to developing movement skill and improving fitness
Special emphasis on ground movement for restoring stability and mobility
Introduction to each of MovNat’s movement domains, from crawling to climbing
How to incorporate MovNat into your existing fitness routine
How to incorporate MovNat into an at-home practice or busy lifestyle
Supplementary materials to help you implement your Natural Movement practice into your daily life.

Every month members of our community come together to learn and practice specific lessons taken from the Uncivilized Vitality lifestyle program of Health & Happiness Optimization. The cost is free for first time attendees and only $24 for repeat visitors. Registration includes any and all take home projects and materials. Membership options available. If you are unable to attend in person you may join in via zoom. Link available upon request.

3rd Annual Primitive Hunt Camp

Hunting was central to pre-civilized life. Learn and experience some basic tenants of traditional food acquisition through seeking, pursuing and humanely dispatching of wild animals in the forests of northern Michigan. This is a 3-day, 2-night gathering that will include:

Basic instruction in tracking and primitive hunting (rabbit sticks, spear and sling)
Basic to intermediate instruction in “minimal camping” ie, Fieldcraft
Instruction of the seasonally relevant Uncivilized Technology Prerequisites:
- Valid Michigan small game license
- Must be able to walk (up to) 10 miles in a single day in woodland terrain
- Experience (not necessary but helpful) in minimal camping

Fieldcraft 101 @ Atlanta State Forest

This event is designed to introduce participants to both the outdoors and the Uncivilized Vitality program in a fun and comfortable manner. Led by Dr. Jon D. Morey, participants will explore the basics of Fieldcraft including shelter making, fire building, primitive food preparation, and many others. Through these experiences one will begin to develop the Lost Abilities: capability, adaptability, and durability. These abilities are the cornerstone of Uncivilized Vitality and enable one to more fully benefit from the Health & Happiness Optimization lifestyle. We will arrive at camp Friday evening and depart Sunday morning. More information including a packing list will be provided closer to the event once registration is complete. Cost includes 3 meals, all group gear, and instruction.

Winter Shelter Camp @ Atlanta State Forest

What an adventure! Concerned about spending the night outside in the snow? Don’t be! This is considered a Level 2: Bedroll camp, meaning we will teach you how to pack lighter and smarter while keeping you warm and happy. You will spend the first night in a tarp shelter of your own construction. You will then have the option to build and sleep in a natural shelter the second night (ie quinzee, debris hut…etc). Winter time is the heart of our camping season; the absolute BEST time to Optimize your Health & Happiness. More information including a packing list will be provided closer to the event once registration is complete.

Winter Hike Camp @ Rifle River Recreation area

Join us as we explore the beauty of northern Michigan winters. This event is perfect for both the novice and veteran as we will be camping in cabins; what a luxury! Our days will be spent hiking around the Rifle River Recreation area, both on and off trail (snowshoes encouraged). Dr. Jon D. Morey will provide lessons on Fieldcraft specific to the winter months. You will be given ample opportunities to learn and use our Uncivilized Technology as a means of staying warm and comfortable. Winter time is the heart of our camping season; the absolute BEST time to optimize your health & happiness. More information including a packing list will be provided closer to the event once registration is complete.
